At scale, the CEO role is only three things:
- They set the overall Vision, Strategy, Values & Priorities of the company and Communicate them to all stakeholders. Saying these over and over till you are sick of hearing yourself.
- They build the strongest senior leadership team that your scale and resources allow for.
- They make sure there is always enough money in the bank. Making sure your team has the resources that they need.
If you are running a company with, say, $5M+ revenue, then everything on your plate should broadly fit into these three buckets.
If it doesn’t then, look at whether you need to delegate more. Your leaders should be strong enough to take on those other items.
