Who should read this book: Growth focused business owners, managers and leaders, executive and leadership development teams and entrepreneurs.
Leadership expert and thought leader Liz Wiseman has researched leadership qualities for decades. In her book Multipliers, she explores two leadership styles. The first type of leader drains intelligence, energy, and capability from the people around them and always needs to be the smartest person in the room. These people she calls ‘diminishers’. Then there are leaders who use their intelligence to amplify the people around them. These are the leaders who inspire employees. Wiseman calls these leaders ‘Multipliers’.
She continues to persuasively show how Multipliers have a positive and profitable effect on business – getting more done with fewer resources.
The real power of this book is in its accessibility. I literally started to change my behaviour after reading this and you can too. Wiseman talks of five disciplines of Multipliers that almost anyone can learn and practice. A must read for all business leaders.
Just imagine what you could accomplish if you could harness all the energy and intelligence around you.
