I recently tuned in to a Daniel Priestley podcast. It was all the lessons from his book, “How To Raise Entrepreneurial Kids.” Must-listen stuff for parents!
Here’s a gem: Don’t pay kids for chores. Why? It’s part of family life.
Daniel’s big idea? Pay them to read instead. $ for pages!
My 9-year-old son didn’t read much. I tried this out. He became a book worm immediately, gulping down a book a week.
Our new Saturday routine? Visit the bookshop – both my kids pick a book. We then all have breakfast together – pancakes for them – it’s added an additional fabulous element of family to our lives.

Best part? My son’s not even asking for cash to read. How cool is that?
